Area Coordinators Needed!
Every year, CSM Canada ships around 300,000lbs of bibles and evangelical materials all over the world. Most of the materials are donated by individual people—one banana box at a time! It takes many people working together to get the materials to our warehouse in Hamilton. That’s where our Area Coordinators, Transporters, and Drop-Off Centres come into play. Area Coordinators work to collect materials and send them to our warehouse, and talk to local donors and churches to spread awareness of our mission. Drop-off locations are individuals who have space to take in and collect materials (sometimes their home church will give them room!) Transporters have larger vehicles and haul boxes right to our warehouse or to a local shipping depot. All of our volunteers are vital to carrying out our mission and each one is dearly valued.
Earlier this year, our faithful coordinator in southern Ontario, Vena Poole went home to be with the Lord, and the transporter who worked with her, Peter Raschig, retired. Madeline and Richard Kufske, and Debby Broughton, also of Ontario, retired this summer. We are so very grateful to have been blessed by the Lord with their service and know their places will be filled by people who also have a fire to serve the Lord.
The blue dots on this map of Canada represent towns where we have an area coordinator, drop-off centre, or transporter. As you can see, there are some highly populated areas that still need someone to collect books from.
For example, Winnipeg, MB, and Fredericton, NB, all have large populations but are without a CSM Canada representative to collect their used materials . In the even larger cities, like Toronto and Montreal, where we do have area coordinators, the population is such that we could use even greater representation!
Imagine if, instead of ending up in a landfill or the recycling bin, we could ensure that ALL of Canada’s used evangelical materials are reused for saving souls! What a wonderful day that will be! The beauty of the printed word is that it requires no electricity or technology to be read and can be easily sent into people groups that have neither. If the Lord puts volunteering at CSM Canada on your heart, please contact our office to start the process.
